CPU (Central Processing Unit)
CPU (central processing unit) is a portion of the computer system that can transmit the instruction of a computer program that receives from the hardware and software and it is an essential and important element in the operation and performance of the functions of the computer. CPU also performs all the instructions of the program sequence so as to perform basic arithmetic and logical operations and input / output system. CPU also responsible for processing and carrying out all the computer function. CPU also called as the brain of the computer or the central processing and the machine that can implement the computer program. The location of the CPU is in the handle of the motherboard include the computer. CPU was first developed at Intel with an assistance of Ted Hoff. This happened in the early of 1970’s. (computer Hop, n.d).
Different type of CPU:
It is very important to have the right type for what you suppose to handle. The speed in the program is also depending on how the powerful of the CPU is. There are two of the most important leading manufacturers which have their own type of the CPU who are Intel and AMD.
Single Core CPUs
This type is the oldest type of the computer CPU, initially it was the only one that available to use in the computer. This type is not much good in multi-tasking because it only start one operation at a time. So if there are more than one application running it will result on noticeable decrease in performance. Another capacity in this type is that one operation can be started at a time while the other one can be activated before the first was finished. The only problem is that with each operation the computer will be very slowly. There only recipe that can be relied upon to perform this type of CPU is the clock speed which was the measurement of their power. (Bolton.N, n.d).
Dual Core CPUs
This type of CPU is described as single CPU who has two cores that can perform exactly like two CPUs in one. Dual core CPU has different qualities from the single core and the two is reverse. In single core the processer had to change back and forth between groups of data streams if there is more than one operation was running unlike the dual core which can efficiently handle the multi-tasking. Dual core is faster than the single core but not like the quad core CPU. (Bolton.N, n.d).
Quad Core CPUs
This type is another type of developer types of the multi-core CPU. It is designed and features four cores on a single CPU. It can divide the workload between two cores the same as dual CPU. One of the good qualities of quad cores that it allows for even greater multi-tasking. This type of CPUs is very useful for the people who need to open lot of program at the same time. So the most important things that must people think about it when they buy CPU is the speed of it. (Bolton.N, n.d).
Function of CPU:
There are different functions that can CPU performs. As we describe it as the brain of the computer so the function of it is to act like the brain of computer. It also enables different activities such as calculations to be carried out on the computer. Basically, CPU does everything on the computer such as all the math the machine needs to do. Moreover it can processes data and performs instructions. It is an input\output device. It takes the data input and deliver it as output information. (technology Department, n.d)
CPU compatibility with motherboard:
To know if the CPU is compatible with the motherboard we have to know some basics. First we need to know if the CPU plug on the mobo is the right one and also if the mobo will scaffold the front side bus of the CPU. In addition we have to know that the mobo will support the construction of the CPU.
Summary
I had described the definition of the CPU which is portion of the computer system that can transmit the instruction of a computer program that receives from the hardware and software. After that I mentioned different type of CPU and I explain what id the important thing that the people look for when they buy a CPU. Then I mentioned some of the CPU function. Finally I explain how to know if the CPU is compatible with the motherboard.

The following diagram shows how the functional components of the CPU work together to fetch data and instructions that are stored in RAM, decode and execute the instructions, and store the results back in RAM.
